The House of Schiaparelli has always been known for its provocative and beautifully bizarre designs, some of which were created in collaboration with the world’s most iconic surrealism maestros such as Salvador Dalí, Alberto Giacometti, Man Ray and Jean Cocteau - to name just a few. Elsa Schiaparelli, the founder of House Schiaparelli was one if not the most avant-garde and revolutionary designer of the 20th century, whose surrealist aesthetic influenced works of many designers such as Yves Saint Laurent, John Galliano and many others.
Schiaparelli’s latest Fall 2018 Couture show by the creative director as of 2015, Bertrand Guyon, was as daring and extraordinary as back in the 20’s and 30’s when Elsa Schiaparelli was the reigning queen of fashion.
The catwalk turned into a beautiful masquerade ball with a lot of jungle motives as models strut down the runway with animal, insect and bird inspired masks on their heads and faces. A true rebirth for the iconic House of Schiaparelli and Elsa Schiaparelli’s ceaseless legacy which leaves us wanting more and guessing what’s next.
