HENNESSY VS AND FELIPE PANTONE: MOVING FORWARD

On September 27, the Maison Hennessy presented in Kiev the result of collaboration with the world famous artist Felipe Pantone.

The futuristic digital style of Felipe Pantone was reflected in the new design of Hennessy Very Special Limited Edition: the Argentinean-Spanish artist became the author of the label of limited series of the famous cognac and art object of the same name – installation Hennessy – consisting of 100 elements of different shape and color. The new project continued the history of Maison's collaborations with famous contemporary artists, including: Vhils, JonOne, Scott Campbell, Futura, Kaws, Os Gemeos,Shepard Fairey, and Ryan McGinness. The presentation took place with the participation of the artist himself and guests from Azerbaijan.

Felipe Pantone’s visual language resonates in a collision of mesmerizing color, bold graphics and 3D illusions. Mystic phenomenon of the contemporary art scene, who never publicly revealed his face, is constantly on the move. Artist’s signature blend of vibrant color and dynamic lines can be seen all over the world.

“For me, the essence of our times is being everywhere at once, simultaneously loose and connected,” says the artist. During Felipe Pantone’s first visit to Cognac, he met with Hennessy Master Blender Renaud Fillioux de Gironde and found the similarities between Cognac making and his own creative process. The work of Felipe Pantone with Hennessy Very Special was based on the principle of “Remixing the Present”.

By researching Hennessy’s archive library in Cognac Felipe Pantone leafed through old labels and advertisements, surveyed antique bottles and packaging. In order to create the label design artist used visual signifiers of the Hennessy heritage and mixed them with characteristic for his art 3D shapes, optic patterns, QR codes and colors. So, the three-star design used by Maurice Hennessy for the first time in 1865 became three-dimensional. And the main element became the lightning bolt, symbolizing the digital era as a metaphor for Hennessy’s ability to capture momentum through the centuries.

Hennessy Very Special by Felipe Pantone is available in limited quantity at the Bravo supermarket next to the Koroghlu metro station.
