A documentary film showcasing the activities of NARGIS Magazine and the NARGIS Fund was screened!
On March 11th, the Nizami Cinema Centre hosted a screening of a documentary film dedicated to the activities of the NARGIS magazine and the NARGIS Fund. The evening welcomed NARGIS partners, philanthropists, representatives from ministries and departments, local and foreign companies, cultural, scientific, and artistic figures, public figures, journalists, bloggers, and others.
For over 11 years, NARGIS magazine has held a prominent position in the Azerbaijani market. Its inaugural issue was published on December 13, 2012. Throughout this period, the magazine has covered numerous events, conducted interviews with prominent figures in art and culture, renowned designers, architects, actors, musicians, and performers, both domestic and foreign.
In addition to its educational activities and provision of information on cultural heritage and modern trends, the magazine actively participates in environmental and social initiatives. Numerous events and projects are documented in the stories and memories of current and former employees of the publishing house. The film was produced by the VarYox team.
The NARGIS Fund was established in 2012 by Ulviyya Mahmud, Editor-in-Chief of NARGIS Magazine, and commenced its charitable endeavours in 2013. Its primary objective is to aid socially vulnerable individuals, particularly children suffering from various illnesses. The fund organises large-scale charity fairs such as "Soyuq Əllər, İsti Ürək", "Torpaq əlimdə, bahar ürəyimdə", and "YayLand Fest" held in the heart of the capital. All proceeds from these fairs are allocated to the treatment and surgeries of children.
The evening's guests were greeted by the executive director of the magazine, Mujgan Gafarzadeh, and the executive director of the fund, Narmin Ibrahimbeyli.
"While it's impossible to encapsulate all our work in one film," remarked Mujgan Gafarzadeh, "we've aimed to share the most pivotal moments with you. Each of these projects embodies a piece of our soul."
"The film we're about to watch together can be viewed as a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the NARGIS family and a report from the NARGIS Fund and NARGIS Magazine to the public. However, in my view, it's more fitting to consider this film as a source of inspiration," added Narmin Ibrahimbeyli.
