International Visa Cashless Forum 2024

On March 14, the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku, hosted the international Visa Cashless Forum 2024, one of Visa’s key events in the markets of Ukraine, Georgia, the CIS and South-Eastern Europe. The forum was dedicated to the latest payment technology trends. The event brought together more than 300 participants. Among the speakers were Visa top managers, representatives of the government and business sectors, as well as international and regional specialists in the field of payment technologies and the financial market. Additionally, as part of the Visa Cashless Forum, a cooperation agreement was signed between Visa and the Education Development Fund under the Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan. “Every day, hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis rely on convenient Visa payment solutions. This country is unique in how quickly consumers and business owners master advanced payment solutions, and banks have the necessary level of technology and infrastructure to implement them. I would like to thank our partners for their joint work on launching technological solutions and projects,” commented Cristina Doros, Senior Vice President, Group Country Manager for Visa in the CISSEE region. “Azerbaijan is a strategically important market for Visa. Over the 27 years of presence in the country, in collaboration with our partners, we have introduced plenty of solutions and technologies in various fields. Over the past few years, we have also launched cutting-edge solutions for small, medium, and large enterprises. At the same time, we implement our social initiatives, supporting entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan through the “She’s Next, Empowered by Visa” initiative and boosting sports through a partnership with the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan. Visa will continue to drive financial and digital inclusion in Azerbaijan together with our clients and partners,” said Nurlan Hajiyev, Senior Director, Visa Country Manager in Azerbaijan. Visa has organised the Visa Cashless Forum since 2017. Notably, the first forum in Azerbaijan was held in 2020.
